The U7's took a nine player squad away to Cranfield Village Park to play Cranfield Colts. The Deanshanger team took an early lead within the first minute and never looked back, leaving their orange shirted opponents chasing the ball for long periods of the game. As the game wore on the home team kept battling away but were unable to stem the tide as Deanshanger found the net again and again, conceding just a single goal in reply from a set piece. A final score of 10 goals for to one against was fair reflection of a dominant performance from the boys. Well Played Lads.
Thanks also to Cranfield who were fine hosts and never gave up chasing and tackling!
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
