This was the Divas, first ever game against girl opposition, and on a cold windy and wet morning they put in a great performance to warm the hearts of the watching supporters. It was a tough first half with the Divas having much of the play but without finding the target. Their approach play and combination passing between Amy, Megan, Lauren and Amber was excellent, but the strong Swans keeper and defence, which included Diva Charlie who had a good game playing for Swans, kept the Divas out. The deadlock was finally broken when "Captain Fantastic" Lauren found the net. Jessica was then introduced at the back with Kennedy going up front and she soon showed how to find the net with a good finish to make it 2 - 0 at the break.

With the elements in the Divas favour in the second half you sensed there would be more goals, and Lauren cracked home the third, before Jessica found the net for 4 - 0. Every player deserves a pat on the back, as the Divas kept their shape and maintained their workrate.  Amy was breaking up Swans attacking threat and when attacking she was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet when she saw a left shot hit the post. A special mention must go to Erin and Layla who didn't put a foot wrong in defence as well as taking a turn between the sticks. Lauren completed a fine display by completing her hat trick, before Amber bagged the goal her hard word richly deserved. Final word went to Kennedy when she tucked away a penalty as the Divas started their footballing careers with a fine win.
